Bait Al Zubair is among the private museums in Muscat and is visited as a testament to Oman’s cultural, societal, and military past. This museum was established in 1914 and is named after its founder, the Zubair family. The museum houses some of the most beautiful Omani artworks and consists of six separate buildings. In the outdoor area of the museum, you can access a beautiful village and a market. 4- Yiti Beach

Yiti Beach Located 28 kilometers from the center of Muscat, Yiti Beach is one of the secluded and lesser-known beaches in Oman. This location serves as a camping spot outside the city of Muscat with small rocks,  cliff edges, and a relatively secluded environment, ideal for parties or couples who enjoy their privacy. The beach features soft, beautiful sands and clear waters with fishing, swimming, camping, and simple day-picnic opportunities.

Near this beach, there is a fishing village where you can interact with the locals, and there’s also the option to rent boats. At sunset, Yiti Beach is an excellent option for long walks and watching the sunset. You will see a range of orange and red colors during the sunset, which are quite beautiful. While the beach doesn’t offer many facilities, it’s popular due to its rustic charm.

Al Alam Palace, protected by two impressive forts, Jalali and Mirani, in Muscat’s port, is the official residence of the Sultan of Oman in the old city’s governmental district. 6- Al Mirani Fort

In the past, Al Mirani Fort protected Muscat’s port. These two forts, Al Mirani and Al Jalali, are located on either side of the palace. 7- Bimmah Sinkhole

Bimmah Sinkhole

Bimmah Sinkhole, located between the two cities of Bimmah and Dibab, is ideal for swimming and enjoying the beautiful views of the region. was created by a meteorite that hit the area and thus formed the deep crater. However, geologists have a different explanation for its formation, attributing it to the erosion of limestone rocks.

The collapsing rocks descended deep into the ground, forming a cavern-like opening. Many believe that this cavity is connected to the sea through an underground tunnel, which is why the water has a turquoise hue.

Bimmah Sinkhole, located between the towns of Bimmah and Dibab, is ideal for swimming and enjoying the region’s beautiful scenery. The Bimmah Sinkhole was created by a meteorite that struck the area, resulting in a deep opening. However, geologists have a different explanation for its formation, attributing it to the erosion of limestone rocks.

The fallen rocks went deep into the earth, forming a cavity-like opening. Many believe this sinkhole is connected to the sea via an underground tunnel, hence the turquoise color of the water.

Al Jalali Fort was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and is now one of Muscat’s attractions. Azim Al Jalali was the one who built this fort and made it accessible to the public.
