After Eleven Years of Waiting: The First Special Arbaeen Flight from Sabzevar to Najaf 2023
After eleven years of anticipation, Sabzevar Airport hosted its first special flight to Najaf Ashraf for the Arbaeen pilgrimage. This flight, operated by flySepahan using a Boeing 737 aircraft, took off at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, September 5th, with 103 pilgrims and passengers on board.
Amir Ali Najoomi, the Marketing Manager of flySepahan, emphasized, “Sepahan’s extraordinary flight from Sabzevar to Najaf takes place, and its return will be on Friday, September 17th.” He added, “All the capacity for this flight can be purchased and reserved on flySepahan website for the convenience of pilgrims.”
On the other hand, Hossein Shadman, the manager of Sabzevar Airport, highlighted the significance of this flight, stating, “This special flight reflects the capabilities and readiness of our airport to provide services to Arbaeen pilgrims.”
Sabzevar Airport, known for its long-standing services and activities in passenger transportation, is recognized as the supporting airport for Mashhad Hashemi Nejad International Airport. After a long time, it registered one of its memorable flights.
Furthermore, from August 18th to September 6th, more than 26,000 Arbaeen pilgrims were dispatched from various airports to destinations such as Ilam, Ahvaz, Kermanshah, Abadan, Najaf, and Baghdad.
Sepahan’s special Sabzevar-Najaf flight for Arbaeen marked an extraordinary event in the direction of both outbound and return journeys in September 2023.
