For passengers, an early morning flight departing at 5:00 or 6:00 AM is simply an early start to a trip; however, for our flight attendants, pre-flight preparations begin at least two to four hours earlier to ensure they are fully energized to safeguard flight safety and passenger comfort. Beyond early wake-up calls, one of the greatest emotional challenges of a career in aviation is being away from loved ones during special milestones. For years, many members of the extended Flysepehran family have spent the exact moment of the Persian New Year (Nowruz) on active duty high above the clouds, far from their family’s Haft-Seen table, sacrificing their own holiday joy to safely connect passengers to their destinations.
Operating a flight is not solely about enforcing safety protocols; it is also the art of harmonizing with the diverse personalities of hundreds of passengers on board. During in-flight service, cabin crew encounter fascinating and sometimes humorous requests and questions—ranging from passengers asking to play music in the cabin or jokingly asking the captain to “avoid the bumps and turbulence,” to a passenger mid-flight eagerly asking the pilot for the live score of the Esteghlal vs. Persepolis football derby! Nevertheless, when Sepehran’s cabin crew are asked what makes them angry toward passengers, their response is firm and unanimous: “We never get angry at our passengers.”
